Bruins Climb to Sixth at Fall Preview

UCLA's top-ranked women's golf team climbed to sixth place after 36 holes at the Mercedes-Benz of Bend Fall Preview hosted by Oregon State at the Sunriver Golf Club in Bend, OR.

The Bruins improved with a six-over par score of 290 on Tuesday and jumped two spots into sixth place. UCLA's two-round total of 585 (+9) trailed first place Duke and Washington by eight strokes. Arizona State is third at 579 (+11), followed by Oklahoma State and Georgia at 580 (+12).

Individually, UCLA's two freshmen continued to impress. Amie Cochran posted a 72 (+1) and was tied for 12th at 143 and Vanessa Brockett was tied for 39th at 149 (+7) after carding a one-under par score of 70. Sophomore Hannah Jun was tied for 30th at 148 (+6). All-Americans Susie Mathews and Charlotte Mayorkas also were tied for 39th at 149.

Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin and Arizona State's Louise Stahle were tied for first at 134 (-8). Stahle fired a five-under par 66 on Tuesday.

Final round action continues on Wednesday.
