Sept. 24, 2004

MORAGA, Calif. - Sophomore Rosa Anna Tantillo (San Diego/La Jolla HS) scored the game-winning goal in the 67th minute Friday as the USC Trojans defeated the St. Mary's Gaels, 2-1, in nonconference action in Moraga. USC handed St. Mary's its first home loss of the season and second loss in the last nine games.

USC would answer quickly in the 26th minute when sophomore forward Tracy Lansing scored on a volley into the right corner. Tantillo broke the 1-1 tie in the second half with her goal on a one-on-one break against the keeper. Junior defender Jocelyn Leche tallied an assist on both USC goals.

Women of Troy freshman goalie Veronica Simonton recorded three saves to improve to 3-0-1 on the season.
