Jesse Mueller Finishes Tied For Third at NCAA Preview.

The Arizona State men's golf team finished in sixth place at the 16th annual Ping/Golfweek Preview held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Bethesda, Md.

ASU shot a 23-over 863 (284-293-286) and finished 15 strokes behind champion Oklahoma State, who shot an 8-over 848 (288-276-284).

Individually, Sun Devil senior Jesse Mueller finished tied for third at 1-under 209 (67-71-71). It marked the best collegiate finish in 35 career tournaments for the 2001 Arizona Amateur champion.

Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State won the event with a 4-under 206 (69-66-71).

Alejandro Canizares, the 2003 NCAA champion, finished tied for 27th after shooting a 1-under 69 in the final round. The junior shot a 9-over 219 (79-71-69).

Senior Pat Moore tied for 43rd at 12-over 222 , along with junior Charly Simon (75-75)-72. Sophomore Niklas Lemke finished at 17-over 227 (75-76-76) and tied for 60th.

Fifteen teams competed in the event, which was held at the site of the 2006 NCAA Championships.
