OFF THE COURT WITH Stacey Holbrook
Stacey Holbrook is the starting libero on the Washington State volleyball team. She is a 5'5' senior from Newhall, Calif. Stacey transferred to WSU in fall of 2003 from College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif., where she earned All-Western State Conference honors twice. As the WSU libero, Stacey is averaging 4.00 digs per game, which is seventh-best in Pac-10 standings as of 9/27/04. Stacey has had double-figure digs in 13 of the 14 matches and snagged 29 digs in WSU's match against San Jose State which is just five away from the school record of 34. FAVORITES:Athlete - Lance Armstrong - He's amazing.  He went from cancer survivor to a Tour de France winner six times.

Movie - I really like Rudy, that has always been a classic.

Book - It's Not About the Bike by Lance Armstrong.

TV Show - Friends

Healthy Food - Salad with Ranch or Italian dressing.

Not considered as healthy food - Chocolate in any form. I could live off of chocolate.

Class at WSU - I have taken a couple of Biology classes and they are really interesting.

Professional team - Baltimore Ravens, because one of my really good friend's brother, Kyle Boller, quarterbacks for them.

What's in your CD player right now? A Country mix.

Gatorade or Powerade? Gatorade.

Most Memorable Match - Senior year of high school, we (Hart High) beat our rivals, Valencia High. This was before rally scoring and we bageled them, 15-0. We went 10-0 that year in league.

Best thing about being a libero. You just have to worry about one thing and that's passing. It's not like you have to worry about passing and then digging. You have your specific job and you can focus on that.

Worst thing about being a libero. I would have said not serving but now you can serve.

Ideal job: To be a surgical nurse.

Best thing about Washington State (Pullman) - The people in general, the fans are very friendly.

If I could bring one thing from my hometown, it would be - My family.

One thing you absolutely have to do before you turn 30 - Go to Europe and travel to other countries.

My most prized possession - My photo albums. I have a lot of pictures.

Sport truck or luxury convertible? Sport truck.

If I could change one thing about my game - That I was taller. I guess I am the perfect height for my position.

Advice you would give a young volleyball player - Work hard. Go all out.
