Women's Volleyball Sweeps ASU

TEMPE, Ariz. - The 10th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team recorded a 3-0 win over Arizona State on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena with three Bruins recording double-figure kills. Game scores were 30-18, 30-28, 30-22 in favor of the Bruins. UCLA improves to 10-3 (3-1 Pac-10) with the victory, while ASU falls to 5-7 (0-4 Pac-10).

UCLA hit .260 as a team in the match, led by a .455 (13 K-3 E-22 TA) performance by Nana Meriwether and a .500 (11 K-2 E-18 TA) performance by Brynn Murphy. Meriwether also led the Bruisn with six blocks and 18 points in the match, although ASU out-blocked the Bruins by a 13-9.5 margin.

Middle blocker Nana Meriwether led the Bruins with 13 kills on a .455 hitting percentage. Brynn Murphy and Heather Cullen added 11 and 12 kills respectively. All-Pac-10 Libero Chrissie Zartman led all players with 16 digs.

UCLA returns home next weekend for matches against California and Stanford on Friday and Saturday, respectively, at Pauley Pavilion. Both matches are set for 7 pm starts.
