Spencer Havner and Justin Medlock Named Pac-10 Players of the Week

Linebacker Spencer Havner and kicker Justin Medlock, both of UCLA, and wide receiver Chase Lyman of California havebeen named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.

Havner and Medlock played key roles in UCLA's 33-10 win against SanDiego State. Havner, a junior from Nevada City, Calif., had agame-high 14 tackles, six solo, including one tackle for loss andreturned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown.

Medlock, a sophomore from Fremont, Calif., accounted for 15 points ingoing a perfect four-of-four on field goal attempts, connecting from22, 40, 43 and 44 yards. He also was perfect on three PAT attempts.

Lyman, a senior from Los Altos Hills, Calif., provided the big plays inCalifornia's 49-7 win at Oregon State. Lyman pulled in five receptionsfor 176 yards, an average of 35.2 yards per catch, including threetouchdowns covering 11, 79 and 31 yards.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were runningbacks J.R. Lemon of Stanford, Hakim Hill of Arizona State and MauriceDrew of UCLA. Also nominated on defense were linebacker David Bergeronof Stanford and end Kyle Caldwell of Arizona State. Punter ChrisMacDonald of Arizona State was nominated for special teams play.
