Cardinal Women Finish Ninth At Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

Sammamish, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a final round of 302 to finish ninth at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club, with a total score of 940. Oklahoma State won the tournament, firing an 899 to win by 19 strokes over Washington (918) and Oregon (918). Southern California (926) placed fourth, followed by Pepperdine (930).

Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin took top individual honors, carding a three-under par 213 for the tourney. Teammate Annie Thurman placed second with a 222. Oregon's Johnna Nealy and Washington State's Ana Kostina tied for third (223) on stroke back. Kay Hoey, from Long Beach State, finished fifth (224).

The Stanford golfers finished in the top 25.

The Cardinal was led by sophomore Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana's tie for seventh place. Tangtiphaiboontana posted a three-round score of 226 (73-74-79). Teammate Kelly Husted turned in a top-25 performance, tying for 25th with a 235 (75-79-81). Lauren Todd, competing as an individual, placed 20th (76-77-79--232). Sophomore Jenna Seki tied for 40th with a 238 (83-76-79) while Wendra Liang tied for 51st with a 244 (80-83-81--244). Stephanie Lue finished 57th (80-85-82--247) for the Cardinal.
