Sumantri Out At All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The 2004 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships came to an end today for Washington's women's tennis team as senior Dea Sumantri was eliminated in the quarterfinals of singles play. Sumantri was the last member of the squad competing in the tournament.

No. 47 Zerene Reyes of Florida upset the 11th-ranked Sumantri in a close three sets. Reyes took the first set, 6-2, but Sumantri leveled the match with a 6-3 second set win. The third set was the closest of the match but Reyes pulled out the 6-4 victory.

ITA Regionals are next up for the women in two weeks. Play runs from Oct. 22-25 at the Stanford campus.
