USC Wins Fifth Straight In 1-0 Victory Against Oregon State

LOS ANGELES -- Sophomore forward Tracy Lansing (Sherman Oaks/Harvard-Westlake) scored the lone goal Sunday as the USC Trojans defeated the Oregon State Beavers, 1-0, in Pac-10 Conference action at McAlister Field. The Women of Troy have won five straight games and lost only once in their last nine games (7-1-1). The five-game winning streak is the program's longest since a similar streak to open the 2000 season.

USC improves to 8-3-1 overall and 2-0 in Pac-10 play while Oregon State is now 6-7-0 overall and 0-2 in conference.

Lansing scored early in the fifth minute for the Trojans, hitting a one-timer in midair from 25 yards out off a header from teammate Tina Sutorius.

USC redshirt freshman goalkeeper Veronica Simonton (Chino Hills/Ayala HS) needed four saves to record her second straight shutout and third of the season. Simonton is now 6-0-1 overall with a 0.52 goals-against-average for the Women of Troy.

The Women of Troy travels to Washington next weekend for a Pac-10 game on Friday (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m.
