Tyler Ley Ties For Third At The Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

Birmingham, AL - Junior Tyler Ley shot a final-round 70 on Tuesday to wrap up a career-best finish as he tied for third at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate played at Old Overton Golf Course.

Ley's total over 54 holes--206--was also a career low, as he wound up 3 strokes behind individual champion Kalle Edberg of Augusta State (203).

Ley's efforts helped pace the Trojans to a ninth-place finish with a team total of 847. Augusta State was first (825), Georgia Tech was second (829), Auburn was third (830), Georgia was fourth (833) and Oklahoma State was fifth (835).

Senior Ben Hayes followed up his win at the Opus Husky Invitational with another strong outing, shooting a career-low 208 on his way to a tie for 10th. Hayes finished with rounds of 67 and 69 and now has three rounds in the 60s out of six rounds played this season.

Also for USC, senior Nico Bollini tied for 41st in his first action of the year with a score of 216, junior Taylor Wood finished 54th with 220 and sophomore Joshua Wooding tied for 58th at 225.

The Trojans are next in action at the Big-10/Pac-10 Challenge on Oct. 25-26 in Brandon Dunes, Ore.
