Women's Golf Takes 11th At Stanford Invitational

Sophomore Catalina Marin shot an 8-over 218 to lead the No. 12 USC women's golf team to an 11th-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate held at the Stanford Golf Course this past weekend.
Marin finished strong with a final-round 70 to tie for 18th, one of three USC golfers in the top 30. It's the second-straight tournament that Marin has led the Women of Troy.
USC scored a total of 892 strokes over 54 holes to finish 40 strokes back of team champion Arizona State (852). Pepperdine was second (857), Washington was third (861), UCLA was fourth (862) and Stanford was fifth (869).
Anastasia Kostina of Washington State was the individual champion with a score of 205.
Also for USC, freshman Jackie Desmond tied for 73rd (234) and senior Allison Schauppner tied for 83rd (241).
The Women of Troy are next in action at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Nov. 1-3.
