The WASHINGTON Huskies (10-3-2 overall) emerged from the first half of the Pacific-10 Conference season unbeaten, with a 3-0-1 record in league games... The Huskies, who last claimed the Pac-10 title in 2000, have a bye week before hitting the road for the Bay Area schools next weekend... Second-place UCLA (7-2-2, 3-1-0) hosts STANFORD (6-2-5, 1-1-2) and CALIFORNIA (8-2-2, 1-2-1) Friday night and Sunday, respectively... The Golden Bears and Cardinal both look to avenge shutout losses to the Bruins on their home fields last week... California also hosts a mid-week non-conference tilt against UC Davis on Thursday.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- UCLA senior midfielder Mike Enfield has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 12-18.

Enfield, from Ventura, Calif., had a three-goal, one-assist performance in the Bruins' Bay Area sweep at California and Stanford. In the Bruins' 3-0 upset win over No. 13/19 California, Enfield scored two goals, including the game-winner, and assisted on the other. Against No. 10/18 Stanford, Enfield scored a crucial insurance goal in the 71st minute, propelling UCLA to a 2-0 victory.

Enfield, who now leads the Pac-10 in goals (8) and points (17), was selected as the College Soccer News National Player of the Week and was also selected to the College Soccer News Team of the Week.

UCLA takes on Stanford and California again this weekend, this time in Westwood.

This is the second weekly honor for Enfield, and the 19th all-time player of the week honor for the Bruins.

Following a mid-week non-conference tilt against UC Davis, CALIFORNIA hosts UCLA on Sunday... The Bears will look to avenge a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Bruins on Oct. 15... SR F Carl Acosta paced the team with two shots against UCLA... JR F Calen Carr ranks second in the Conference in shots per game (3.00 avg.). OREGON STATE is idle this week and will continue a three-game stretch away from Corvallis next weekend, playing at California and Stanford... The Beavers have dropped three in a row but still lead the league in goals (26) and goals per game (1.86 avg.) SO FO Robbie Findley (5) and JR F Ryan Johnson (4 ) rank fourth and tied for fifth in the Pac-10 in goals scored, respectively. STANFORD's 2-0 loss to UCLA on Oct. 17 was its first Pac-10 defeat of the season and first loss since Sept. 24... SR GK Robby Fulton posted eight saves on the week, including four in the Cardinal's 1-1 tie with UC Davis. UCLA hosts the Bay Area schools after facing California and Stanford on the road last weekend... The Bruins posted shutouts, downing Cal 3-0 and Stanford 2-0... UCLA and Stanford play the first game of a double-header with the UCLA and Stanford women at 6 p.m... SR MF Mike Enfield leads the Pac-10 in points (17), goals (8) and goals per game (0.73 avg.). Unbeaten through the first half of Conference play, WASHINGTON (3-0-1 Pac-10) is idle this week... JR GK Chris Eylander earned his ninth shutout of the season in the 2-0 win over Oregon State on Oct. 17... With the blanking, Eylander tied former UW standout Bill May for third place on the Husky single-season list. OF NOTE: The Pac-10 has added San Diego State University as an affiliate member in the sport of men's soccer beginning with the 2005 season, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced on Oct. 7... The Conference began sponsoring the sport in 2000 and has five current members that field men's soccer teams.
