Stahle Vaults to Ninth at Women's World Amateur Championships

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Freshman Louise Stahle vaulted into a tie for ninth after the second round of the Women's World Amateur Championships, being held Oct. 20-23 at the Rio Mar Country Club.
Stahle, who is representing Sweden at the event, carded a one-under 71 on Thursday to move to 42nd to ninth with a two-round total of two-over 147 (75-71).
Sweden moved up three spots to second in the team competition, shooting a three-under 141 on Thursday with a two-day total of three-under 285 (144-141). The Swedish team trails first-place Canada by three strokes (137-145=282), while the United States is third at two-under 286 (139-147).
Stahle is joined by Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin and California's Sofie Andersson on the Swedish team. Sjodin is leading the individual competition with a two-day total of five-under 139 (69-70), while Andersson is tied for 30th (77-72=149).
