Down 1-0 at halftime, Cal wasted no time getting on the boards in the second half. At 47:15, Justin Delacruz scored his first goal of the year on a bending shot from 16 yards out. Just two minutes later, Calen Carr won a tackle at the top of the box and dribbled it towards the goal, beating UCLA goalkeeper Eric Reed for the go-ahead goal. Cal took a 3-1 lead at 63:49 when Eric Ebert scored after collecting a cross in the box from Yohei Fukuda.

UCLA's comeback began at 81:50 with Marvell Wynne streaking down the right sideline. Wynne crossed a ball to Ahmed Khalil in the box, and the senior netted it past Cal goalkeeper Eric Kronberg for his first goal of the season. With the clock counting down to the end of regulation, the Bruins scrambled for the equalizer and found it in the final seconds. Ramon Manak sent in a cross to Khalil, who headed it to Enfield in the box. Enfield sent in a bicycle kick shot into the back of the net for the tying score with 22 seconds left to play.

In the third minute of overtime, Cal defender Kyle Navarro was red-carded for a handball on a goal-scoring opportunity. The Bruins were also awarded a penalty kick, which was taken by Bruin co-captain Aaron Lopez. Kronberg dove to his left to block Lopez's shot, but Lopez gobbled up the rebound and scored on the rebound shot. Kronberg put a hand on the ball, but it went up and over the goal line before Cal defenders could clear it out.
