Stanford Lightweight Women Place 10th At Head Of The Charles Regatta

Oct. 24, 2004

Cambridge, MA
Head of the Charles Regatta

The Stanford Lightweight Women brought their most experienced eight the program has ever had in its brief three year history to the 40th annual Head of the Charles Regatta. With high hopes and three weeks of preparation, Stanford got off to an aggressive start. However, after being fouled twice by Ottawa, Stanford was eventually forced to stop rowing while the two boats clashed oars. After floating through the Anderson bridge, Stanford quickly regained momentum and put Ottawa behind them. The Cardinal fought hard for the remaining 1700 meters of the race and finished in 10th place overall, and fourth place amongst the collegiate crews. Next up for the Stanford Lightweight Women is the Head of the American in Rancho Cordova, CA.
