Oct. 25, 2004
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Arizona State University quarterback Andrew Walter has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the Pac-10 office. Walter, a senior from Grand Junction, Colo., becomes the Sun Devils' fifth Pac-10 Player of the Week this season.
Walter led the Arizona State offense in the Sun Devil's 48-42 win against UCLA where he completed 25-of-51 passes for 415 yards and six touchdowns. Trailing 42-31 with less than seven minutes remaining in the game, Walter directed Arizona State on three scoring drives--two touchdowns and a field goal--in less than four minutes to pull out the win. Walter's six touchdown passes is just one shy of the Pac-10 record for a regulation-length game. The Arizona State offense put up 48 points and 536 yards total offense, 415 through the air.
