Kohlloeffel Captures Singles Title at Wilson/ITA Fall Regionals

Malibu, Calif. -- Bruin sophomore Benjamin Kohlloeffel captured the men's singles title over San Diego State's Armando Carrascosa, 6-1, 6-1 Monday at Pepperdine University.

Kohlloeffel, a sophomore from Herne, Germany, was a 9-16 seed in the tournament. He didn't lose a set six singles matches.

A day earlier, top-seeded Alberto Francis and Kris Kwinta of UCLA wrapped up the doubles title, defeating Arizona's Roger Matalonga/Colin O'Grady, 8-4.

With the victories, all three UCLA players will be competing at the ITA National Indoors Championships, Nov. 4-7 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
