The No. 4 USC men's golf team shot 596 over 36-holes on Tuesday to tie with Minnesota atop the leaderboard at the Big 10/Pac-10 Challenge held at Bandon Dunes Golf Course.

The Golden Gophers, however, were awarded the team title since they retained the edge on the fifth-score tie breaker.

Most of the tournament's first day was canceled due to bad weather, so it all came down to the 36 holes played on Tuesday.

The Trojans were led by junior Taylor Wood, who shot 144 to finish third, and junior Tyler Ley, who shot 147 to place ninth. USC also got a tie for 14th from sophomore Joshua Wooding, who shot 150.

Trojan senior Bradley Shaw tied for 41st (155), while senior Ben Hayes tied for 53rd (158).

UCLA was third in the team race at 596, while Arizona State was fourth (601) and Northwestern was fifth (602).

The Trojans have now completed their fall schedule and will next be in action at the Taylor Made Intercollegiate on Feb. 9-11.
