Stanford Basketball in the Fight Against Cancer
Oct. 26, 2004
Stanford, Calif. - Stanford Basketball has once again joined forces with the American Cancer Society to host its seventh annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Breakfast. Coaches vs. Cancer is a national program which helps raise funds for the fight against cancer.
Both the Stanford men's and women's basketball teams will solicit pledges this year from fans like yourselves. Last season, the combined program was able to raise $9,000 for the fight against cancer based on the total number of 3-point shots converted by both teams.
Here's how the Coaches vs. Cancer 3 Point Attack works: Stanford fans pledge money for every 3-point basket shot made in a season's game. Fans can choose to support the men's team, women's team or both. Money is raised for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society based on how many 3-pointers the Stanford Basketball teams convert during the 2004-05 season. You can pledge as much or as little as you want. We hope everyone will join us in the fight against cancer!
