Media Picks Women's Basketball to Finish Fourth in the Pac-10

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University women's basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the Pac-10 Conference this season according to a poll of media members who cover the league regularly. The coaches also selected the Sun Devils to finish fourth this year when they released their poll Oct. 15.

ASU, which opens its season with exhibition action against Basketball Travelers on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. inside Wells Fargo Arena, received 100 points in the voting to finish fourth with defending Pac-10 champion Stanford and Arizona both garnering 140 points to tie for the top spot on the list. UCLA was selected third with 122 points. Stanford also was chosen as the top team in the Pac-10 by the coaches with Arizona and UCLA rounding out the Top 3.

The Sun Devils open the regular season Nov. 11 and 12 when they travel to Baton Rouge, La., for the Women's Sports Foundation Classic hosted by LSU. ASU will face Virginia on the first day at 5 p.m. CT with the Sun Devils facing either LSU or Maine the following day.
