Off the Court with Alison Billingsley

Oct. 28, 2004

Color - Light blue

Athlete - Gabrielle Reese (pro volleyball player and model) is like a role model on and off the court. I think she's just a great role model for young girls. Oh yeah and Lance Armstrong too, you can choose whoever you want.

Movie - I really like Dodgeball. I saw it four times in the movie theatre. I'm too cheap to go to the movies so seeing it four times shows how I really liked it.

Dessert - That comes to mind so easily. There's so many to choose from. I would say mudpie. My mom makes the best of anyone. My sister and I got our own on our birthday.

Class at WSU - I would say Broadcast 355. It was the first time we got to get in the studio and broadcast. The prof was Marvin Marcello. He's just so fun.

Professional team - The Mariners

Which TV reality show could you see yourself on? Either Survivor or Road Rules Challenges. The ones more about winning things than gossiping about each other.

Who makes you laugh? Jen Barcus and Kelly Rosin - they are two of the funniest people to be around.

Best thing about being a Cougar - I would say just the camaraderie, the Cougar spirit, and the support of the community

Before each match I - Always make sure I brush my teeth. That's the last thing I always do before I go to the court. I do it in the locker room. I don't know why but I just like my teeth clean. I even did it in high school.

What's in your CD player right now? Usher the newest. I play it so much that it's starting to skip in my CD player. I also like to look at him.

Who is the toughest player across the net for you to dig a ball from? Logan Tom (Stanford, US Olympic Teams).

Dream job? Working for ESPN TV editing together the highlight tapes for the Sportscenter Top 10 plays. Edit the music and plays.

If you could meet any person, living or dead, who would it be? Princess Diana. She was such an admirable woman in every way. Just the way she carried herself. She was so beloved. I think she would be awesome just to have a conversation with.

Do you have any pet peeves? People who talk with food in their mouth. When I worked at the TCBY people would ask to sample every one of the yogurts and dab their lips repeatedly to actually help them decide what type of yogurt to buy.

You eat very healthy, is there a food you crave? Autumn mix, with the candy corn and the popcorn, oh, I tried giving that up two weeks ago and I look at it in our candy dish and it's so hard.

Most frequently dialed number on my cell phone - My mom's. I call her first after a match. Audra (twin sister who lives in Miami) is three hours ahead in the time zone.

On a long trip, drive or ride? I would say drive.

What is your worst habit? Biting my nails. They're terrible. They're disgusting. After volleyball, I'm going to treat myself to a manicure.

In the winter, hat or no hat? Hat, usually a beanie, wool something cute. I'm not that cute where I can match my outfits, I usually just have one.

What's your favorite drink you make when you work at the Daily Grind? I would say a Gary's Brain Freeze. Gary is a guy at the KHTR FM/Hot 104 radio station. It's a secret recipe. It's a cold drink. That was his drink and Hot 104 promoted it.
