Cardinal Men In 10th At The Prestige

La Quinta, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team shot rounds of 313 and 315 on the first day of play at the 2004 Prestige golf tournament and sit in 10th place overall with a 628 total. UC Davis leads the field by one stroke with a 609, followed by UCLA (610), UC Irvine (612), Kansas (618) and TCU (621).

Cardinal Zack Miller is tied for 15th individually after carding rounds of 79 and 75 for a total of 154. Kyle Gentry is tied for 32nd with a 157 (79-78) while Scott MacDonald, competing as an individual, is tied for 35th with a 158 (80-78). Senior Kevin Blue shot a 160 (80-80) and is tied for 45th. Freshman Rob Grube checks in tied for 52nd with a 161 (75-86). Fellow frosh Teddy Collins is tied for 70th with a 168 (86-82). Senior Pat Phillips, playing as an individual, is tied for 79th with a 172 (88-84).

Notre Dame's Cole Isban fired a 146 to hold a two stroke lead over UC Davis' Erik Hill (148). Three players are tied for third with a five-over par 149.

Final round action concludes tomorrow on The PGA West course.
