Havner and Drew Earn Pac-10 Honors

Linebacker Spencer Havner and tailback/punt returner Maurice Drew, bothof UCLA, and tailback J.J. Arrington of California have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.

Havner and Drew played key roles in UCLA's 21-0 shutout win againstStanford. Havner, a junior from Nevada City, Calif., had a game-high16 tackles, 11 solo, including two tackles for loss (-5) andintercepted a pass, returning it 21 yards. The UCLA defense shut outStanford and limited the Cardinal to 83 yards rushing and 307 yardstotal offense, intercepted three passes and stopped Stanford threetimes on fourth-down conversion attempts.

Drew, a sophomore from Antioch, Calif., returned three punts for 93yards, including a 68-yard return for a touchdown. He had 221 all-purpose yards, including 105 rushing and 23 receiving.

Arrington, a senior from Nashville, NC, led California's offensiveeffort in the Golden Bears' 25-0 win against No. 20-ranked ArizonaState. Arrington rushed 30 times for 188 yards (6.3-yard average) andone touchdown. It marked Arrington's seventh consecutive 100-yardrushing effort and put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season.California rushed for a total of 234 yards against ASU.

It was the second player of the week selection for each of the threeplayers and the second in three weeks for Arrington.
