Tennis Team Travels to North Carolina

THIS WEEK: The Washington State tennis team will send Nora Gaal, Chris Martinez, Orsolya Sallai, and Amy Toth to the University of North Carolina Kitty Harrison Invitational Nov. 5-7...the field includes North Carolina, Duke, Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Winthrop...five of those teams participated in the 2004 NCAA tournament...Duke and Miami (Fla.) advanced to the national quarterfinals...the tournament will be the Cougars' last before beginning dual match play in January.

WSU HEAD COACH Lisa Hart ON THIS WEEKEND: 'This tournament has high ranked teams and we're anxious to see how we compare with them,' said Washington State Head Coach Lisa Hart. 'The intensity and effort have increased in practice, the team is hungry for some wins this weekend.'

COUGARS MAKE RECORDS EARLY: Senior Nora Gaal placed herself tied for ninth on the all-time career singles victories list with 60...fellow senior Chris Martinez sits at 59 career singles victories.

UP NEXT: The Cougars will face the Brigham Young Cougars for their first dual match of the year Jan. 21, in Provo, Utah.
