Women's Golf Takes Third At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Las Vegas, Nev. - The Stanford women's golf team fired a final round of three-over par 291 at the Las Vegas Founders Women's Collegiate Showdown to finish third overall with a three-round total of 890. UNLV took top honors among the 17-team field, shooting an 11-over 875. Washington placed second (880), five strokes off the pace. UC Irvine finished fourth (892) and Texas Tech was fifth (893) behind the Cardinal.
Rounding out the top 10 was San Francisco, Kent State, Missouri, USC and Brigham Young.
Teammates Kelly Husted (Sarasota, FL) and Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana (Long Beach, CA) tied for 10th individually to lead the Cardinal with a three-round score of 221. Sophomore Lauren Todd (Phoenix, AZ) tied for 14th, just one stroke back, with a 222 (76-74-72). Senior Wendra Liang (San Francisco, CA) tied for 43rd with a 230 (75-79-76) while sophomore Jenna Seki (Honolulu, HI) tied for 47th (79-75-77) with a 231.
UNLV's Hwanhee Lee took top medalist honors, firing a one-under par 215 for the tournament. Washington's Sung Ea Lee and San Francisco's Jessica Potter tied for second at even-par 216. Seema Sadekar, from UNLV, took fourth (217). Two golfers tied for fifth with a 218.
