Stanford finished with a 12-5-3 record and a 4-3-2 mark in Pac-10 play to tie for fourth in the conference ... senior Marcie Ward leads Stanford with 18 points this season, while junior Leah Tapscott has contributed 15 points ... Cardinal keeper Nicole Barnhart owns the third-best goals-against average in the country (0.437) and has helped Stanford to the second best team average in the nation (0.428).
Postseason Potpourri: Stanford is 11-12-2 (.480) all-time in the postseason and 7-5 in First Round games (and one bye in 1999) ... last year the Cardinal lost a 1-0 decision to Santa Clara at Buck Shaw Stadium in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Cal Poly is 1-4 in NCAA Division I playoff matches, advancing to the second round with a 2-1 win over Fresno State in 1999 (Stanford knocked the Mustangs out in the next game, 3-1.
Cardinal vs. Cal & Santa Clara: Stanford has faced Santa Clara and Cal already this season and tied both games ... the Broncos and the Cardinal battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Sept. 30 at Buck Shaw Stadium ... Stanford and Cal opened the Pac-10 season against each other on Oct. 10 and ended with a 1-1 tie in Berkeley.
Pac-10 Points: Arizona was the surprise team of the conference this season, picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll, Arizona went on to win the automatic bid and earn the Wildcats first-ever NCAA Tournament berth ... Tapscott Trivia: Junior midfielder Leah Tapscott was named Pac-10 Player of the Week on Oct. 4 after helping the Cardinal to a 0-0 tie at Santa Clara and a 2-1 victory over Saint Mary's ... Tapscott scored the game-winner against the Gaels ... the weekly conference honor is the first in her career and the first of the season for Stanford.
Barnhart Bullets: Senior goalie Nicole Barnhart was named to the Soccer America and College Sports Television (CSTV) Preseason All-America teams, and has made the cut as a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist ... the two-time All-American is co-captain of the Cardinal for the second-straight season ... she is tied for No. 2 in the school record books for career shutouts ... with nine blankings to her credit this season, Barnhart has recorded 38 in her career.
National Team Notes: Goalie Nicole Barnhart earned her first cap with the U.S. Senior National Team on Oct. 15 -as a forward ... the U.S. matched up against Mexico in Kansas City, Mo., on its Fan Celebration Tour, and Barnhart was called into the game after starting forward Angela Hucles rolled her ankle in the 81st minute and had to leave the match ... as the USA has already used all of its available substitutes, back-up goalkeeper Barnhart was sent into the game to play forward ... it is the first time in USA history that a goalkeeper has played in the field (although Mia Hamm played in goal during the 1995 Women's World Cup).
Rankings Report: After a disappointing weekend in Washington, the Cardinal slipped in all of the polls ... Stanford is No. 25 in the NSCAA/adidas poll, No. 20 in Soccer Times, No. 19 in Soccer America and No. 18 in Soccer Buzz.
