OSU Wrestling Intrasquad On Saturday

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State will determine a number of starting spots in its wrestling lineup when the Beavers hold their annual Intrasquad Meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gill Coliseum. The contenders for the top spot at each weight will wrestle a best-of-three series of matches on Saturday.

At 125 pounds, it will be sophomore Eric Stevenson against freshman Jake Gonzalez; at 133 pounds, senior Tim Norman against sophomore Bobby Pfennigs; at 141 pounds, redshirt freshman Clinton Leonard against junior college transfer Emery McReynolds; at 157 pounds, junior Tony Hook against senior Joel Gibson; at 165 pounds, junior Anthony Webber against sophomore David Lorring; at 174 pounds, sophomore Jeremy Larson against senior Steve Grayson; at 184 pounds, junior Dan Pitsch against freshman Kyle Bressler; at 197 pounds, redshirt freshman Travis Gardner against freshman Jason Gage; and at heavyweight, sophomore Jamie Rakevich against sophomore Ty Watterson. There will also be several other matches between OSU wrestlers who aren't in the top two places at their weight.

Several possible starters are currently sidelined and could move into the lineup when they return to the mat, including defending Pacific-10 165-pound champion Matt Ellis, 149-pounder Orlando Perez and 141-pounder Kyle Larson. OSU will go to the Southern Oregon Open in Medford, Ore., on Nov. 20.
