UW Men's Basketball Opener to be Shown on Internet

Nov. 17, 2004

Seattle - When the Husky men's basketball team tips off the season opener Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Seattle Pacific, the game will be shown live on the Internet. It is the first of five Washington home men's games and three Husky women's games that will be streamed through gohuskies.com, the athletic department's athletic website.

The Webcast is available as part of the College Sports Pass subscription service which features exclusive live and on-demand video and audio content. A subscription to College Sports Pass can be purchased on the website for $6.95 a month or $49.95 for an entire year. In addition to getting access to Washington's events, College Sports Pass subscribers can access content from any of the schools on the College Sports Online network. The radio broadcasts from all Husky men's and women's basketball games are included in the package.

Last week Washington carried two volleyball matches and all four games from the women's basketball team's WBCA Classic on College Sports Pass.

All events on College Sports Pass are streamed through a Real Networks Player. The player allows subscribers to view the video in several sizes, including full screen. A broadband or high-speed Internet connection is recommended for viewing the games. Macintosh computer users must be running at least System 10.2.

In addition to the upcoming basketball events, the top-ranked Washington volleyball team's regular-season finale against UCLA will be carried live on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.

College Sports Pass allows Husky fans to view a growing inventory of audio and video files on Washington's website. Additional sports will be added to the list of live streaming events in the winter and spring.
