No. 9 Stanford Sweeps WSU

STANFORD, Calif. -- The No. 9 Stanford volleyball team put a stop to No. 1 Washington's undefeated season last night and kept the winning ways Friday night with a 30-19, 30-22, 30-22, at Burnham Gym on the Stanford campus.
Stanford (21-6, 13-3 Pac-10) hit .430 as a team and was led by the 20 kills of Ogonna Nnanami, and 19 kills and 13 digs from Kristin Richards. Lizzie Suiter had a match-high four blocks. Bryn Kehoe had 44 assists and three aces.
'It was a much better team effort tonight with regards to playing together and playing with spirit on our side of the net,' Cougar Head Coach Brian Heffernan said. 'The highlight again was Jen Barcus. She led the way in efficiency hitting .300 with 14 kills on 30 swings. She is really stepping up at the end of the season and showing her teammates she wants to be the leader of this program in the future. Nicole Martin did a really nice job from the service line tonight.'
WSU returns to Pullman for its final two matches of the season next weekend taking on UCLA and USC at Bohler Gym Nov. 26 and 27.
