--Sophomore wide receiver Jason Hill broke the Washington State record for touchdown receptions in a season by hauling in his 12th in the third quarter against Washington...Hill had been tied with Kevin McKenzie (1997), Chris Jackson (1997), and Devard Darling (2002) for the lead...Hill left the game in the first half to be evaluated for a possible concussion.

--Junior running back Jerome Harrison topped the 100-yard rushing mark (150 on 29 carries) for the fourth time this season and the third-consecutive week...his other 100-yard performances came against Oregon (117), UCLA (247), and Arizona State (118).

--Washington State has led at the half in each of the past three Apple Cup games...the Cougars held a 21-10 at the half Saturday, jumped to a 13-7 advantage in 2003, and a 17-7 edge in 2002.

--Tight end Troy Bienemann opened the Washington State scoring Saturday with a six-yard touchdown reception from Alex Brink...Bienemann had not reached the end zone since the season opener at New Mexico.

--Washington State quarterback Alex Brink recorded the first rushing touchdown of his career in the first quarter against Washington...Brink also threw for a pair of touchdowns, marking his first game with multiple touchdown passes.

--Washington State's two most-productive tacklers this season teamed up for one of the key plays of the game...sophomore linebacker Scott Davis sacked Washington quarterback Casey Paus, forcing a fumble that trickled into the end zone, where it was recovered by junior Will Derting for a touchdown...it was Derting's second career touchdown, with the other coming on a 98-yard interception return against Nevada in 2002.

--Senior cornerback Karl Paymah recorded an interception against Washington in 2003 and collected another Saturday...two of Paymah's three career interceptions have come against the Huskies.

-- Senior linebacker Pat Bennett tallied the third interception of his career against Washington...Bennett also had an interception against USC this season and Arizona State in 2003...the Forks, Wash., native returned both of his prior picks for a touchdown.

--Cougar quarterback Alex Brink became the first freshman (redshirt or true) to start the Apple Cup for WSU and have the Cougars come out on top...Drew Bledsoe (true, 1990), Ryan Leaf (redshirt, 1995) and Matt Kegel (redshirt, 2000) are the other WSU freshmen quarterbacks to start the Apple Cup.

-- Washington's Sean Douglas launched a 78-yard punt in the fourth quarter, the second-longest in school history.
