Nov. 29, 2004

WALNUT CREEEEK, Calif. - UCLA senior libero Chrissie Zartman was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team while four of Zartman's teammates earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors. It is the third first-team All-Pac-10 honor of Zartman's career, as she is the most honored libero in conference history.

Zartman is averaging 5.67 digs per game this season, and has surpassed both the UCLA and Pac-10 career dig records this year. Her current career average of 4.35 digs per game would easily surpass the existing Pac-10 record and would rank eighth in NCAA Division I history. Entering postseason play, Zartman has 1,946 career digs to rank 12th in NCAA history.

Four of Zartman's teammates, Becky Green, Krystal McFarland, Nana Meriwether and Brynn Murphy, were recognized as Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honorees.

The Bruins (18-10, 11-7 Pac-10 t-4th) open NCAA Tournament play on Friday evening at Pauley Pavilion. UCLA opens against Loyola Marymount at 8 pm PT. Tickets will be available at the Pauley Pavilion box office beginning at 4:30 pm PT on Friday afternoon.
