TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman TE Zach Miller was selected as the Pacific-10 Conference Freshman of the Year and 12 different members of the Arizona State University football team earned All-Pac-10 recognition, the conference announced Monday. In all, the Sun Devil's all-conference selections were led by a pair of first-team choices in junior OL Grayling Love and senior DB Riccardo Stewart with four members earning second team honors and six others garnering honorable mention accolades.

The 13 combined honorees is the most for the Sun Devil program since the 1996 season that saw 16 different players garner conference honors. This year also marks the first time since 2000 that an ASU student-athlete had won the freshman of the year award (Terrell Suggs) and the first since 1996 that a Sun Devil had won a player of the year honor while playing offense (Jake Plummer, Offensive Player of the Year).

Miller, a true freshman from Phoenix, set ASU freshman records for both receptions (51) and receiving yards (524). He ranks seventh in the Pac-10 in receiving and is the second-leading receiver among tight ends, trailing only first-team selection Alex Smith of Stanford. With four more catches this season, Miller will tie All-American Todd Heap for receptions in a season by a tight end at 55.

Senior QB Andrew Walter, junior WR Derek Hagan and senior OL Andrew Carnahan each earned selections to the second-team offensive unit while senior DL Jimmy Verdon garnered on the defensive second team. Six student-athletes each earned honorable mention accolades, including sophomore PK Jesse Ainsworth, senior MLB Justin Burks, senior C Drew Hodgdon, sophomore WR Terry Richardson, junior OLB Dale Robinson and junior OLB Jamar Williams.

Overall, USC's Matt Leinart (QB) and Reggie Bush (TB) split the Offensive Player of the Year award while the Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year Award was shared by Oregon State's Bill Swancutt (DE) and USC's Shaun Cody (DT). California's Jeff Tedford was selected as the Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
