Time Change For NCAA Volleyball Tournament

SEATTLE--The NCAA has made a change to one of the 2004 Division I Women's Volleyball first round matches to be held in Seattle on Dec. 3-4 at the Bank of America Arena. The match between Kansas and Santa Clara on Friday, Dec. 3 has been moved ahead one-half hour to a 5 p.m. start. Washington's first round match against Idaho on Friday will remain at 7 p.m. The winners of the first round matches will meet in the second round on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.

The Huskies (24-2, 16-2 Pac-10) were selected as the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament and are making their third-straight NCAA appearance and ninth overall. The Huskies were one of 31 teams to receive automatic berths after winning the Pacific-10 Championship outright. Thirty-three other teams received at-large bids to make up the 64-team field.

Last season, the Huskies matched the program's best-ever finish when they advanced to the Elite Eight (1988).
