Enfield, Lopez Named To NSCAA All-Far West Team, Selected To MLS Player Combine

UCLA seniors Mike Enfield and Aaron Lopez earned dual honors this week, being named to the NSCAA All-Far West first team and being selected to participate in the 2005 adidas MLS Player Combine in January.
Enfield, a first-team All-Pac-10 midfielder, led the Pac-10 in scoring this season with a career-high 13 goals and 30 points. Lopez, a first-team All-Pac-10 defender, is a semifinalist for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy and led the Bruin defense, which posted a 0.82 team goals against average and eight shutouts.
Both players have also been selected to participate the annual MLS Player Combine Jan. 8-11 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. MLS general managers and members of all 12 MLS coaching staffs will be in attendance to scout talent at the event leading up to the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, which will be held in Baltimore, Md. on Jan. 14. A total of 42 players who participated in the 2004 Player Combine were eventually selected in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, in which a total of 60 players were drafted. UCLA's Matt Taylor was the fourth overall pick in last year's draft, and a total of five UCLA players were selected in the first three rounds.
