Husky Swimmers Start Husky Invitational with Season Bests

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.- The University of Washington men's and women's swimming teams competed in the first day of competition at the 56th Annual Husky Invitational at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. The men's and women's 1000 freestyle was the only event that was swam this evening.
It was a night of season highs for the Huskies as four out of the five swimmers that competed finished with season best times. For the men, senior Kevin Quinn placed 6th with a time of 9:34.37 and junior Hunter McCallister earned an 11th place finish with a time of 9:39.13.
For the women, junior Megan Bright took 14th place with a time of 10:21.77, sophomore Blythe Murray placed 16th with a time of 10:25.19, and senior Courtney Hentzen earned 19th place finishing with a time of 10:27.35.
The Husky Invitational continues tomorrow, Dec. 3. Preliminaries begin at 8:30 a.m. and event finals will began at 5:30 p.m. The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center is located at 650 SW Campus Drive in Federal Way.
