Swimming Picks up Four NCAA Marks, Divers go Sixth and Fifth in Texas

The No. 10 Bruin swimming and diving team had strong performances from its athletes on Friday, with four swimmers picking up 'B' NCAA qualifying marks at the Husky Invite, and the divers going five and six in Texas.
Sophomores Jane Imagane and Katie Nelson, along with freshman Shannon Hackett swam NCAA 'B' qualifying marks in the 500 Free on Friday at the Husky Invitational to highlight the Bruins swim team. Senior Kim Scarborough also swam a 'B' standard in the 200 IM.
'Our medley relay teams did very well, with some great splits,' said Assistant Coach Greg Meehan.
The Bruins will return to the pool Saturday and Sunday to finish out the Husky Invitational.
At the Texas Invitational, the divers again had a solid day, with juniors Paige Thompson and Amanda Blong finishing fifth and sixth respectively in the one-meter competition. Thompson (270.80) moved from sixth in the preliminaries to fifth in the finals, while Blong (266.80) went from fourth to sixth. Senior Janine Strack (216.30) and freshman Brittany Renfrow (199.55) placed 15th and 22nd respectively.
