Field Set For NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup

The field has been set for the 2004 NCAA men's soccer College Cup, and No. 2 seed Indiana, No. 3 seed Maryland, No. 9 seed UC Santa Barbara and unseeded Duke will be competing for the national championship on Dec. 10 & 12 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Defending champion Indiana will take on Maryland in the first semifinal on Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:00 pm. The match will be followed by the 7:30 pm contest between Duke and first-time College Cup participant UC Santa Barbara.

This is the first time the College Cup has ever been held in Southern California and the first time it has taken place in the state of California since 1981 when Stanford hosted. With UC Santa Barbara's trip to the College Cup, California schools have now advanced to the national semifinals 19 of the last 21 years. The Gauchos will be aiming to become the 11th school from the Golden State to advance to the title game in the last 21 years.
