No. 10 Swimming Has 13 Top-Five Finishers at Husky Invitational

Cyndi Gallagher's No. 10 Bruin swimming team had 13 top-five finishes at the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, WA on Saturday, highlighted by a first place finish by the 800 Free Relay team of Kendall Butler, Katie Nelson, Jane Imagane, and Shannon Hackett (7:27.79).

The 'B' 800 Free Relay team of (Katherine Wong, Lindsey Smart, Tamara Bal, and Lindsay Jones (7:44.25) also finished fifth. In the 200 Medley Relay (Smart, Jillian Ochs, Isabel Miesner, and Kellin Chatfield), the Bruins placed second in 1:44.94.

In individual action, freshman Nicolette Teo had the highest finish, placing second in the 100 Breast with a NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 1:03.65. Sophomore Katie Arnold finished third in the 100 Back (57.30), Senior Kim Scarborough also placed third in the 400 IM with a 'B' standard of 4:20.78.

Sophomore Jane Imagane and freshman Shannon Hackett tied for third in the 200 Free (1:51.15), while sophomore Katie Nelson finished fifth in that event in a time of 1:51.89.

Other Bruins in the top-five were - Jeana Fuccillo (400 IM, 4:23.27, 'B' standard), Isabel Miesner (100 Fly, 57.84), and Luisa Los-Santos (100 Breast, 1:04.24).

UCLA will finish its competition at the Husky Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 5.
