Oregon State Cruises Past Sacramento State

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - David Lucas, playing in his first game of the seasonsince having surgery to repair a tendon in his right toe, had 13 points andOregon State beat Sacramento State 86-59 Tuesday night.

Lucas had five points in 15-2 first-half run that put the Beavers (8-3)ahead 21-6. Later in the half, he had a rim-rocking dunk that sparked an 8-0run as Oregon State went ahead 42-17.

The Beavers would lead 42-19 at the half after the Hornets were just 1-of-11from 3-point range. Sacramento State made eight of 31 attempts overall.

J.S. Nash added 15 points and Sasa Cuic had 14 for Oregon State, which wasplaying its final non-conference game before Pacific-10 Conference play opensFriday against UCLA in Corvallis.

Alex Bausley had 13 points and four rebounds for Sacramento State (2-9). TheHornets got no closer than 16 points in the second half.

The Beavers led by as many as 27 points.
