Cougar Duo To Play In Hula Bowl

PULLMAN, Wash. --- Departing Washington State seniors Hamza Abdullah and Chris Bruhn will play in the Hula Bowl January 22 in Maui.

Abdullah was WSU's third-leading tackler in 2004, finishing with 70 stops, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one interception. The Pomona, Calif., native started every game in his senior season after backing up NFL safeties Lamont Thompson and Erik Coleman his first three years in Pullman.

Bruhn compiled 644 rushing yards in two seasons with the Cougars. The Woodland, Calif., native was just the fourth Washington State player to eclipse 100 yards in his debut after rushing for 118 against Idaho in 2003.

Abdullah and Bruhn will join fellow Pac-10 players Steve Fleming of Arizona, Jimmy Verdon of Arizona State, Wendell Hunter of California, Jerry Matson, Chris Solomona, and Robby Valenzuela of Oregon, Jonathan Pollard of Oregon State, Kevin Arbet and Alex Holmes of USC, and Charles Frederick of Washington on the West squad.
