Arizona State's Ike Diogu Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State center Ike Diogu has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for January 3-9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Diogu, a junior from Garland, Texas, averaged 26.5 points and 11 rebounds in leading the Sun Devils to their first road sweep of the Bay Area schools since 1985. Against Stanford, Diogu collected his eighth double-double of the season (23rd career), pouring in 28 points and corralling 15 rebounds. He also had three blocks and an assist. Versus California, Diogu notched 25 points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two assists.
For the season, Diogu leads the Pac-10 in scoring (23.3 ppg), rebounding (10.4 rpg) and blocked shots (2.73 bpg).
Arizona State (13-2, 2-1) hosts UCLA and USC this week.
This is the third weekly honor for Diogu, and Arizona State's 22nd Player of the Week all-time.
