Rain Cancels Wednesday's Softball Double-Header At Cal Poly

March 22, 2005

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Due to heavy rain over the past week and poor field conditions, Wednesday's softball double-header between No. 17 ranked Oregon State and Cal Poly has been canceled.

The Beavers (17-6) were scheduled to play nine games in California before heading to Corvallis for their Mar. 25 home opener, but OSU was only able to get three games in due to severe weather.

After playing its first 23 games away from Corvallis, Oregon State opens play in the OSU Softball Complex on Friday with a double-header against Brigham Young University. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Beavers enter the game riding an 11-game winning streak - the longest current winning streak in the Pac-10. The school record for consecutive wins is 12, set in the 2002 and 1999 seasons.

Oregon State holds an 8-2 record in home openers with Kirk Walker at the helm.
