Williams Earns First Team Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

BERKELEY, Calif. - California senior forward Kiki Williams was named to the first team Pac-10 All-Academic women's basketball team, while senior guard Kristin Iwanaga received second team recognition.
Williams, who is working on her master's degree in education, is the first Cal player to be selected to the first team since Paige Bowie held the distinction in 1999-00. Williams was an honorable mention choice each of the last three seasons.
Iwanaga, who is majoring in sociology, garnered honorable mention academic accolades as a sophomore and junior. She was an honorable mention All-Pac-10 (athletic) choice as a senior.
Seniors Khadijah Coakley (center), Leigh Gregory (forward) and Jacqueline Sanchez (forward/guard) and redshirt sophomore guard Sarah Pool garnered honorable mention accolades for the Bears. Cal's six academic picks this season matches the 2003-04 campaign for the most in school history. These are the second honorable mention picks for Coakley and Sanchez and the first for Gregory and Pool.
