OSU Swimmers Earn Academic Honors

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State's Jessie Hong was named to the Pacific-10 All-Academic Women's Swimming Team as a first-team selection and Mari Embertson, Ausra Pacebutaite, and Leah Schaab were named to the second team, as announced Thursday by the Pacific-10 Conference. OSU swimmers earning honorable mention were Sandy Hong, Kristen Huston, Danielle Kinney, Christina Kinney, Monika Miroslaw, and Ashleigh Thomas .
Hong (Carson City, Nevada/Carson Cityt HS) is finishing her career with Oregon State with a 3.81 GPA in Industrial Engineering.
Embertson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg HS), a Senior All-American, is recently coming off from her second NCAA championship meet. This year Embertson placed 20th in the 400 IM and 41st in the 200 IM. She has a 3.55 GPA and is majoring in Business Administration.
Leah Schaab (Calgary, Alberta/William Aberhart) a junior, has a 3.77 GPA and is majoring in Biology.
Pacebutaite (Vilnius, Lithuania/Ozo Secondary HS), a sophomore, has a 3.54 GPA and is majoring in Business Administration.
