Cardinal Women Tied For Ninth At PING/ASU Invitational

Tempe, Arizona - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 17-over par 305 on the opening day of competition at the PING/ASU Invitaional at the Karsten Golf Course (par 72/6,230 yards) in Tempe, Arizona. UCLA leads the field with a three-over par 291, followed by Arizona State (295) and Oregon (295). Rounding out the top five are California (297) and Pepperdine (302).
Cardinal Kelly Husted fired a three-over par 75 and is currently tied for 21st individually. Senior Wendra Liang along with teammate Lauren Todd check in tied for 33rd with a four-over par 76. Golfer Stephanie Lue is tied for 51st with fellow Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana with a six-over par 78. Jenna Seki, competiting as an individual, is tied for 91st (84).
Bruin Susie Matthews and Sun Devil Louise Stahle carded a two-under par 70 to sit atop the individual leaderboard after the first round of play. UCLA's Amie Cochran is third (71) one stroke back. Three players are tied for fourth with an even-par 72.
Second round action continues on Saturday at Karsten Golf Course.
