TUCSON, Ariz. - Wildcat shortstop Kristie Fox hit a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to pace the No. 2 Arizona softball team to 4-2 victory against No. 3 California Saturday at Hillenbrand Stadium.

Junior Kristina Thorson (13-3) limited the Wildcats to four hits through the first six innings and induced back-to-back fielder's choices in the seventh. With two down and a runner on first, Wildcat center fielder Caitlin Lowe reached on a fielder's choice and an error on the play by Cal shortstop Chelsea Spencer allowed Allyson Von Liechtenstein to advance to second. A bunt single by left fielder Autumn Champion loaded the bases and Fox homered to left centerfield for the victory.

Eldredge finished the game 3-for-4 while James was 2-for-4.

The Bears finish their three-game road trip Sunday against the Wildcats at 1 p.m.
