UCLA To Compete In Evening Session At NCAA Championships

In a random draw conducted by the NCAA, the UCLA gymnastics team was selected to compete in the preliminary evening session of the NCAA Championships (hosted by Auburn) on Thursday, Apr. 21 at 7:00 pm Central Time. The Bruins, winners of the West Regional, will compete against Central Regional winner Alabama, Southeast Regional winner Florida, North Central Regional runner-up BYU, Central Regional runner-up Iowa State and Southeast Regional runner-up Georgia.
Competing in the afternoon session at 1:00 pm CT are Northeast Regional winner LSU, North Central Regional winner Utah, South Central Regional winner Michigan, South Central Regional runner-up Nebraska, Northeast Regional runner-up Oklahoma and West Regional runner-up Penn State.
The top three finishers from each preliminary session will advance to the Super Six Team Finals on Friday, Apr. 22 at 7:00 pm CT.
The five-time NCAA champion Bruins will begin the preliminary meet on uneven bars, the same rotation they won the NCAA Regionals with this year, and will end on a bye after vault. Georgia begins the meet on vault, BYU on a bye before bars, Iowa State on beam, Alabama on a bye before beam, and Florida on floor.
UCLA has now qualified for 14 consecutive NCAA Championships and 22 overall.
