Pleasanton, CA -- The eighth-ranked Washington women's golf team put together its best round of the tournament, shooting 7-over 295, to finish sixth at the Pac-10 Championships for the second straight year. The Huskies completed the three-day event at 33-over 897. Second-ranked UCLA claimed the title by four strokes at 10-over 874. Arizona State was second at 878.

Washington sophomore Amber Prange was the Huskies' top finisher in ninth place. Prange shot 1-under 71 Tuesday to record the team's best single-round. It equaled her best 18-hole score of the season and her 54-hole total of 218 also matched her best tournament score this year. Last year Prange placed 14th at the Pac-10s.

Arizona State's Louise Stahle, the nation's top-ranked player, took home medalist honors thanks to a 5-under 67 during the final round. Stahle finished at 9-under 207, two strokes better than runner-up Susue Matthews of UCLA.

Husky junior Paige Mackenzie finished 11th overall at 219 after carding a 74 Tuesday. She was named a first-team All-Pac-10 performer following the event. It marked the second straight season Mackenzie has received the honor. She becomes just the third UW player to be a two-time 1st-team all-conference honoree. Prange, freshman Kim Shin and junior Sung Ea Lee were named honorable mention all-Pac-10 selections.

Shin was 26th at 230 while Courtney McCracken was 31st at 232. Lee finished 42nd at 236.

Monday the NCAA will announced the field for its three NCAA Regional sites. The West Regional is scheduled for New Mexico State's campus course in Las Cruces.
