LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 6 ranked Oregon State softball team dropped a 9-0 5-inning decision to No. 12 ranked UCLA in Friday's Pacific-10 Conference showdown.
Oregon State (40-13; 13-7 Pac-10) has dropped three straight games for just the second time this season, and the first time since February.
Caitlin Benyi's 2-RBI home run over the center field fence in the first inning set the tone for the day and the Beavers were unable to recover.
UCLA (29-16; 9-11 Pac-10) pushed its lead to 5-0 behind three more extra base hits in the bottom of the second and Andrea Duran's three-run homer to left made the score 8-0 in the third.
Benyi's second home run of the day capped off the scoring with a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth.
OSU senior Alana Mendoza went 2-for-2 from the plate.
The Beavers and Bruins wrap-up the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. With a victory, Oregon State would capture its first ever season series from UCLA.
