More Seats For Baseball Series Vs. USC
May 16, 2005
CORVALLIS, Ore. - In anticipation of large crowds for No. 5 Oregon State's baseball series against No. 20 Southern California this weekend, OSU is moving additional bleachers into Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The extra seats will increase capacity to approximately 2,200 for the games against USC, which will be Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Also, ticket windows and gates to the ballpark will open two hours prior to the first pitch each day; that's one hour earlier than for previous games this season. No fans will be admitted to the ballpark prior to the gates opening.
Normal capacity at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field is 2,000. The bleachers being added at each end of the main grandstand will seat more than 200 fans - all with a good view of the game - but eliminate most standing room areas, hence the 2,200 capacity for the series. Additional concessions and restrooms are also being added for the series.
While they last, fans can still purchase a Pac-10 Package for $50 to obtain a reserved seat for all three games against USC. Purchasers of a Pac-10 Package will have priority on ordering reserved seats if OSU should be selected as the site for a NCAA Regional (June 3-6) and/or NCAA Super Regional (June 10-13). The OSU athletic ticket office in Gill Coliseum Room 107 can be phoned at 541-737-4455 or 1-800 GO BEAVS.
Should the Beavers host a postseason tournament or series, more seats will brought to Goss Stadium at Coleman Field to increase capacity to e between 2,600 and 2,800.
